This mod is really good i have to tell you. I love the realistic but it will turn the game into nightmare for me not gonna lie. imagine fighting in sarcophagus and your headlamp broken but you can't fix it. Way way too hardcore, at least you can make something that allow the player to fix the headlamp. Like repair tool or something

Realistic? Dude, usually if it hits you in the head, then you have to die, so such devices break only once.

There is a breakdown from the factory, of course, but it should be an ordinary chance, independent of the hit.

You have pockets don't you? carry a backup. And sarcophagus is endgame some probably carry 2-3 backups.

You really wanna turn the immersion (masochism) up to 11? Apply this script to the detector (if you get hit by an anomaly while you have it out), your RF transmitter (if you are too close to a pulse or an electro) or your PDA so you'll have to buy a new one.

turn it up to 12 and adjust it so every time the actor get hit something in the inventory can break

Maybe breaking a Svarog or a PDA-3 is a little much. Maybe make it where you have to repair it? I dunno, just spitting ideas.

Na, it's ok, for example, I am at late game, I have a lot of mats to craft like 3 oracle nv, some svarogs and some pdas.

I personally like all these ideas the harder the game the better.

I want to break down and cry cause how hard it is. LOL

i had an idea for an addon WHICH adds the ability for devices to stop working when an emission occurs (cause emissions already affect electronics clearly) for example. There would be a VERY LITTLE chance for RF Receivers/Detectors/Geiger Counter/Flashlights/Headlamps/NVGs etc anything that uses batteries when emission occurs the common issue would be battery dying to 0% cause of emission 15% chance (lore; since these devices already were made as emission proof as possible with the zone's technology) also a 10%-5% chance for the device to COMPLETELY stop working and you would have to get it repaired by technicians for it to work again (short circuit cause of emissions etc) AS for batteries you would add a container of sorts for them, that is emission blocker if you carry batteries without that container the batteries drop to 0% some of them around 35% chance because they aren't inside emission resistant devices so they are more volurnable However with container the chance for failure is just 5% also the container is fairly heavy. (reduce batteries size for balance.) lastly for the batteries that die to 0% you can just recharge them with battery artifact or flash or whatever ! (with perk based artifact i think you can already do that add compatibility?)

EDIT; IF YOU ADD MCM FOR USER TO CONFIGURE % FOR THEMSELVES I THINK IT WILL BE A HIT ADDON!

I would probably make it where the short circuit due to emission is optional however because the real threat to your electronics would be electro anomalies. One big jolt of electricity would definitely be enough to fry your equipment.

yes that is also another great addition to the idea i mentioned! also you almost always die in electro anomalies anyways lol. but yeah being able to get items repaired by technicians adds a cool aspect! or yourselves. (add fuses maybe? that need to be replaced idk!!) this addon would have alot of potential.

nice idea, it adds a very needed variation to the game.

especially in the late game, it gets boring. you have all your stuff crafted or looted, and nothing get lost and needs to be replaced.

i see this mod as welcomed addition and will try it now.

It finally happened. I was inside X-19 and a rock worshipper managed to destroy my Oracle NV. It wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't fighting my way out of X19 lol. It definitely did add a new level of worry to my excursion.

Love for them to have parts much like weapons and armours.

Would be lots of fun to have to repair your torches etc.

Great mod, makes playing event with lategame gear more interesting and it makes fights more impactfull even at late stages. Also keeps the ecomomy intact (as buying new nightvision tends to be pretty expensive) and forces one into new situations (like having to use a flashlight or different models of nightvision).

I would like the batteries to also be discharged in the radiation fields. Nobody cares about it after they buy an exo armor.

Great mod FeldW ! please make a version that affects other devices such as the detectors, as well as the PDAs. Thanks.

This mod is brutal. Even after changing values to make it easier I still get all of my devices wiped after a quick pass through mild radiation field. 10/10

Gave it a test myself, new game loner in rookie village, went to tutorial anomaly with Fanatic. Got the jellyfish and came out with very little damage, as I hoped! Your mod is great stuff!

This is so cool, is the milspec pda mod compatible?

Edit: Never mind was super easy to add myself, however parts condition seem to be tied to the battery as in you can swap batteries and get full parts health back and vice versa, i have no conflicts either

Does the problem with the battery and the condition of the parts also manifest itself on vanilla devices?
