A new attempt at expanding and finalizing the ancient unofficial patch for this classic that is still troubled by issues. Primarily focused on fixing bugs, adding QoLs, and improving gameplay. Aiming at only getting better in the future.
The mod's initial version of 1.0 with full integration of the all famous UP v1.3 and a collection of other fixes, improvements, and enhancements. English only, and make sure it's set to it, as it will overwrite the captions, subtitles, and text descriptions for all other language versions of the game (but the installed voiceover will remain the same).
Combo is broken with Mouse. Sometimes you can trigger the typical 3-Hit combo (2x light + 1x heavy hit). But most of the time you can only trigger a single Hit.
No more spamming, bro. You need to click right on time, otherwise you won't be able to make combos.
It is a feature, not a bug? Good to know.
Is there a description of what other changes were made?
And is it possible to switch features on/off individually?
Thanks for the notice.
dummsaus2 Everything is in the changelog (homepage). As for individual on/off, then maybe later, once I'm done with the other mod and this one gets its cumulative update I'm working on.
Hi, thanks for the work done for a game almost forgotten, I poured 80 and more hours into it.
I can't seem to get the 3-hit combo right after the first swing, is there a specific animation frame where I can chain hits?
Recently (like yesterday) achievements got added to the game, will this patch still work without any problems?
Edit: Apparently the achievements are not yet active, the patch will probably be released on January 24th.
Does this patch work with the new update? Something tells me that since they updated the whole engine to 64bit, every patch/fix out there needs to be updated...
Tested and does NOT work with the THQ Nordic 64 bit re-release of Risen.
Does this patch work with new 64bit Risen update?
Does not.
Okay, we have established that this does not work with the new Risen 64-bit update, so, on Steam, at least, how does one go about getting this working? Do we join the "public beta" branch, which evidently we're automatically supposed to know the purpose of because there is no information describing how it's different from the main branch, or the "Original release" branch? I'm sorry I wasn't at the meeting where the information about which branch does what and how to get this mod working was beamed into our collective brains, but for those of us without a PhD in Risen Patchology it would be nice to know how we're supposed to get this mod working if it doesn't work with the version of the game Steam automatically installs.
Apparently, the "Public Beta" branch is under THQ Nordic control, which means the new 64 bit re-release. Therefore, the "Original Release" must be the one you want.
However, that being said, I tested this mod before THQ Nordic messed up the Risen releases everywhere with their "new shiny update", so I will have to perform extra tests for compatibility and installation troubleshooting before I release the next version of EPU.
