The early days of the Soviet invasion posed huge challenges for the US forces. Despite their tech superiority, the US armored divisions were stretched thin and ill-prepared to counter the seemingly endless waves of Russian and Confederation MBTs. Things only worsened when Catastrophes and Tesla Cruisers entered the fray - it became clear that more soldiers were needed on the battlefield, and the equipment utilized by the Guardian GIs was not enough.
Thus - the Javelin Trooper, armed with a more advanced anti-tank missile, is capable of precisely targeting any enemy previously marked by any of the US target painters. While the soldier carries one such painter, it has the smallest radius and shortest duration, but lets him designate the target for himself and other Javelins nearby. Once fired, the weapon is capable of neutralizing most ground armor encountered on the battlefield.
Javelin is exclusive to the United States, does not replace the Guardian GI and is not anti-aircraft.
