Have you ever thought the Quake 2 viewmodels could use more detail? Looking for a way to spice up your next playthrough of Quake 2? Look no further than Quake 2 Enhanced: Definitive Weapons Pack! This mod seeks to bring the high-fidelity gun world-models from the Quake 2 Enhanced Edition and slot them into the viewmodels using the new md5mesh solution. Lovingly created by Millenia3D, these models bring a level of detail not seen in the pre-Nightdive remaster viewmodels.


Planned Features:

  1. Third person/world models from the Quake 2 Enhanced Edition placed into the viewmodels.
  2. New hand models to eliminate culling in the viewmodels.
  3. Touched up animations to guns that might need it.
  4. Optional ultra high-res gun models.

Please do not forget when developing new models that the shotgun, pistol, bfg and railgun glow in the dark (separate fragments of these weapons).
I'm really looking forward to this mod!

Shotgun glowing in the dark always looked odd, and it was not an original feature, but rather a misplaced effect, existing in some of the ports. Replicating that would not really compliment the weapon. But what does look particularly weird - are the muzzle flashes on the hyperblaster (and blaster), in the so-called "enhanced" edition. Since Blaster/Hyperblaster are energy weapons, they do not use gunpowder, so if there is an ambient effect, - it should not look like firing from an M16, but more similar to the BFG/Plasmagun ones from Doom-3.
